Sure! Sorry but that is not correct. One DRIP wallet can last for years. It is more about how long it will take to reach a wallet's maximum payout.
The max payout per any wallet is 100,000 DRIP, not dollars. In order to reach that, the deposit balance needs to reach 27,397 DRIP, not dollars. After a deposit balance reaches 27,397, it is no longer recommended to deposit or compound, because it will not cause your max payout to go any higher than 100,000 DRIP (27,397 x 3.65 = 100,000).
Then, if you were to only claim with no more compounding and no more deposits, you could claim 365% of whatever your deposit balance is, at a rate of 1% per day, and therefore, be able to claim it all within 365 days.
Most people cannot reach these levels within 365 days. At today's DRIP prices of about $125, the max deposit would need to be over 3.4 million. And the max payout at today's DRIP price would be $12.5 million.
So, since most people cannot deposit these huge sums of money to be able to reach max payout, most people have some kind of alternating schedule of claiming and compounding in order to let earned interest be what increases your deposit balance, and less of your own actual money.
One of my other readers reminded me that we do not know the future of crypto or of DRIP, and he suggested taking some profits off the table, at least to recuperate your initial investment. There are a multitude of strategies and a lot of it depends on 1) your faith that DRIP will persist, 2) that DRIP will be the same or greater in value per token, 3) and that the value of our deposits and earnings is tied to the value of DRIP.
I have experimented with a lot of yield farms and staking pools. DRIP has been the only one that has consistently paid out for me, except for stablecoins (which have a lower APY than DRIP).
I'd be happy to answer any other specific questions. I am excited about DRIP too!! :)
