Suffice it to say, I wouldn't rely on crypto for a cash cow. We're just lucky it didn't rug. That's why I'm somewhat of a DRIP maxi - though roadmap has taken a long time, their team appears dedicated to innovation and a long term plan.
Yeah, I wouldn't hesitate to sell DRIP if I needed it. Last March, I thought I needed about $20K cash for taxes so started selling - that's what it's for. If we were never to take profits, then what honestly would be the point in any crypto? (Turns out later that I didn't need the money, but I still withdrew the money to my bank.)
That's why I keep saying that Animal Farm "fixes" things that DRIP didn't have. With DRIP, you have to sell DRIP to "realize" profits. But, in the AF, he structured it where you can just earn non-native BUSD and BNB, but still earn native tokens in-kind, and use those instead to compound your position and stake ownership of the platform's revenue.
For fees, you could calculate the dollar fee, then just compound every time it exceeds the fee and tax amount - that might be weekly maybe. Same for the Animal Farm - the fee is 0.0125 BNB. Currently, at about $330, that amounts to a fee of $4.13. So, it would not be smart to complete any action on Animal Farm, IMO, unless the action (compounding, withdrawing) exceeded this amount. Otherwise, every time you compound or withdraw any amount less than $4.13 (at current BNB price), then you'd be taking a loss on every transaction!
I hear you on buying at the "high." I started buying at $20, and continued buying up into the $90's. Then, instead of scaling out and taking some profits, I watched as DRIP slowly fell to what it is now. I kept thinking, it will get better! LOL.
The Scratchies might change things ( when they are released!). From what I saw, 30% of the BNB used to buy a ticket goes to the Faucet vault. So, not only does the BNB cause a steady stream of buy pressure on DRIP, but it also takes it out of circulation. This combination IS bullish, however, one could reasonably and realistically expect that as the value of DRIP increases, so will be the people wanting to sell at those rising prices. So, I am curious to see which side will triumph as these Layer 2 DRIP games are released.
What I fear is that there is a lot of DRIP laying in wait in people's wallets, just waiting to be sold at more favorable prices. That could dump a lot of DRIP into circulation. So, at some point, I think, DRIP would need further tokenomics to accomplish similar tasks - buy pressure and remove from circulation, to counterbalance the inevitable selling of DRIP.
Whoops! wrote a whole 'nother article just replying to you! LOL. Take care!! Working on Article 4 of AI.
