Historically, energy was one of those sectors to just sprinkle in for consistent growth. $XLE index comes to mind for most folks with an annual total return of about 12%. So, imagine my surprise as my research revealed these energy stocks with price returns of 29%, 233%, 380%, 1,070%, and even a whopping 1,136% 1-year market return!
Recent news out last week was that President Trump wants to ban solar panel fields and windmills. His premise is that the energy generated is not really enough to offset its carbon footprint, that the large land requirement kills wildlife, but also, that his virtual nemesis, China, owns several of these solar panel fields within the US itself.
This news sparked several stocks in the energy sector to surge last Friday, January 24th. While several appear overbought, I still see room to the upside with 3-Day and Weekly squeezes setting up to fire long!
